The Folkstone precinct plan.

What the approved plan means for Folkstone: an employment area for industry, business and jobs in Melbourne's north, beside the Hume Freeway and close to the new estates of Mickleham.

Employment land

Folkstone is planned as an employment area. Vicplan zone maps show Industrial 1 Zone land across a large part of the precinct.

Hume Freeway frontage

The precinct sits west of the Hume Freeway and south of Donnybrook Road, with freeway ramps at the Donnybrook Road interchange.

Commonwealth facility

Part of the precinct is Commonwealth land, home to the Australian Government's Post Entry Quarantine Facility at 135 Donnybrook Road, Mickleham.

A residential pocket

Zone maps show a General Residential Zone pocket around O'Keefe Street, Mickleham, inside the precinct boundary.

Conservation land

Areas of Public Conservation and Resource Zone sit inside the precinct boundary.

456.6 hectares

The total precinct area in the Victorian Planning Authority's boundary data.

Jobs figure

The VPA has not published a jobs figure for Folkstone, so this site does not quote one.

Business land

Workplaces next to the new estates.

Folkstone's employment land sits between the Hume Freeway and the new estates of Mickleham, with Merrifield Central to the north and Craigieburn North across the freeway. For home buyers, that means business land planned close to the estates listed on this site.
