Folkstone is an approved employment precinct of 456.6 hectares in the suburb of Mickleham, Hume City Council, about 30km north of Melbourne's CBD in a straight line, on the Hume Freeway corridor.

The precinct sits south of Donnybrook Road and west of the Hume Freeway. Merrifield Central Employment Area is to the north, Craigieburn North Employment Area is across the freeway to the east, and the new estates of Mickleham, such as Highlands and Botanical, are to the south west.
